"Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life."

ARTMATTERS provides an opportunity for visual artists to inspire, encourage, and interact with fellow artists while fostering an environment for artistic growth.   In addition to monthly meetings, the group hosts guest artists, speakers, excursions, workshops, demonstrations and more.  ArtMatters also arranges local art exhibits for its members in order to establish an artistic presence that enriches our community and speaks to future artists.

Adult visual artists of all skill levels are welcome to join the group, from novice dabblers to experienced professionals.  The group's focus is on the fine arts (drawing, painting, print-making, sculpture, photography, etc.) rather than decorative arts or crafts.  If you are an adult artist residing in Washington Township (Morris County, NJ), then we enthusiastically invite you to attend an upcoming meeting.   Please see the schedule below for more information.

This free program is provided for residents of our community by the Washington Township Public Library.

For more information on membership, please contact ArtMatters.WT@gmail.com.

Art for the Sake of It Overview and Drawing Classes Curriculum

This was a Gold Award Project developed by Zoe Nast.  It provides a simple 5 day class to establish some foundation skills for drawing.  She is sharing the simple curriculum for free!  It was a very popular program, and we at ArtMatters are providing sustainability to the project by offering Community Art Workshops. The Big Draw is the first, to be followed by a figure class in February and a watercolor class in April.  (Click here for the curriculum and information.)
